CLOHE project

"Context

This CLOHE project was implemented in Colégio de Santa Maria, an integrated preschool where children with and without special needs are mixed, in Coimbra, Portugal. It was developed along several sessions during about a month along other activities also developed for children in the preschool. The subject that was explored was the representation of the preschool and its integrative mission. The participants had never been involved in a similar activity before.

The Colégio de Santa Maria belongs to APPACDM of Coimbra, a Private Social Solidarity Institution that has the mission of fostering opportunities for mentally disabled people so that they can find their individuality and participation in the society. The Colégio is a space where “normal” children, children in risk and children with development delays share the same spaces and activities and where the support meets the individual needs of each child. "
